Rationality is Self-Sabotaging

After listening to the podcast by Tim Ferriss interviewing Steven Pressfield, I had a “breakthrough” about why my recent behaviour has been self-sabotaging.

When we start to become who we were meant to be, when we go against society, take risks and do something that goes against the norm, not only do we have to fight societal Resistance but an internal one as well.

The rational being inside us will instill fear as to why we shouldn’t do or go down a certain path and when we persist, we end up finding ours internal self-sabotaging behaviours.

Suddenly, you choose to drink the night before the big interview to your dream job, cheat or do whatever it takes to stop yourself from getting to the finish line.

Realizing this self-sabotaging behaviour is the first step to fighting through the rational voice in your head that’s stopping you from being the best version of yourself that you can be.
