It’s Okay To Drown

The secret to escaping quicksand according to survival experts like Bear Grylls is to not fight and try to vigorously wiggle yourself up but to remain calm, make yourself as light as possible, spread yourself to increase your surface and then move slowly and deliberately.

But that’s quicksand and now we need to talk about ourselves. We often find ourselves in situations and feelings of anger, fear, or sadness. When we find ourselves there we try really hard to fix, escape, and fight the feeling.

What we need to know and understand is acceptance. Be calm and allow those feelings to be, let them overwhelm us even if we feel like we’re drowning.

Once you allow those feelings to run their course, which is often quicker than we think. We often find that that situation and state pass with much ease.
