The world did great when it started moving from the thousands of different ports to a similar one.
Most Android smartphones and even cameras (low end like mine) started USB Micro, and now we moved even one step forward with USC-C, the fast data & energy transfer port.
Today I thought, wouldn’t it be great if we did that in the automotive industry?
Have a standardized and universal part configuration.
From all the inner parts, brakes, bearings, suspension, etc… Make all those parts the same size in every vehicle segment.
Manufacturing would be quicker, cheaper and maintenance would be a breeze.
If one OEM has designed a better unit in the sedan segment, make it open source, let’s all validate it, and if it passes that’s the new standard and similar component in every vehicle.
