We are seeing more and more governments and corporations make firm stances in reducing their carbon footprint. This comes at a time when climate change is becoming more apparent with harsher weather, including the recent example of forest fires in the USA’s West Coast. The good news is that governments and major corporations have set bold goals for themselves for 2030.
Google, Apple, and Facebook have set goals of being neutral by 2030, while Microsoft wants to be carbon negative by that same time period. The European Union has set a target of cutting greenhouse gas emissions (from 1990 levels) by 40%.
Listening to Apple talk about their plans of going carbon neutral by 2030 during their product announcement live event earlier really got me wondering if this could really be the decade of change, a time when we truly start to see the shift from fossil fuels to clean energy and transportation.
